Really exhausted cause yesterday we were having full-day in Universal Studio Singapore, made our schedule for that day delayed a couple of hours, So at 11.00 we were having breakfast.
I’m pretty enjoy living in this hostel. The breakfast were simple and delicious. There were bread with the toast bread and various kind of cereal such as Koko Krunch, Honey Stars, and Corn Flakes. The hostel implement self-service breakfast, including wash the dishes after breakfast.
I am taking a bath and after that, while packing I also checking all my social networks account. The good news is in this hostel the free internet 😀
I checked-out from the hostel, but still keep my luggage in Hostel. While, killing time before going to Airport, My friends and I decided to go to Orchard Road.
I decided to go solo without my groups, cause I’m really interested to spend more time in Kinokuniya Bookstore, in Ngee Ann City (Takashimaya). I bought GMAT Review Book (I guess it’s unavailable in Indo..or if available, the book more expensive in Indo hhehe. there’s never too early to prepare something, right? ). :D
However, we did lunch together in Ngee Ann City food court. I ate “Nasi Lemak” including Teh Tarik that cost S$ 6.9. It was quite affordable compare to other meals.
After lunch, back again to Kinokuniya Bookstore, cause there were some books that actually I’m interested to buy, but my wallet say the opposite. *hahaha sedih* So, the solution was skimming the whole books that interesting. 😀
We gathered again in front of the Orchrd MRT Station, and heading to Chinatown MRT Station. Took all my luggage and say good bye to Beary Good Hostel! 😀
We went to Taxi Stand in front of Temple in China Town, and then heading to Changi International Airport, Terminal 3.
right on-time, we check-in and after that another spending time in Airport Lounge, walking around the shopping center inside the Airport.
and.. i don’t know what happened with my friend’s ticket hahaha look at this one!
and here goes the boarding pass!
— if i have kids in the future, i will probably buy them this cabin luggage..so they will definitely become a truly junior traveler, like their mom 😛
We were waiting in waiting room A17.
Boarding time to Jakarta.
I was continue to watch movie that didn’t finish to watch when I’m traveling to Singapore. Overall, the journey to Jakarta was pretty good. I did not feel it was a long journey. might because i’ve been experienced of 16 hours of flight 😛
after finished with immigration and baggage..Pak Pendy picked me up! and then heading to my apartment in Taman Anggrek. CCCM’s field trip was officially over. I cannot thank you enough for Mr. Aurik Gustomo, SBM ITB, Mr. Pri, and friends from SBM ITB that made this field trip extremely fun, insightful, and awesome.

Location : Universal Studio Singapore
After breakfast in Parc Sovereign Hotel, I take a bath and then packing. Together with my group i check-out from hotel. The next destination was I have to check-in to another hostel cause actually i extend from the regular itinerary that scheduled by SBM ITB.
After for about 20 minutes wait, I got a taxi and went to China Town. Arrived in Beary Good Hostel, China Town. From the first time I felt so comfortable with this hostel. Much more like my own house; cozy, clean, and everyone is communicative and friendly. The other facts that makes me happy was it really near with the MRT Station (China Town).
I just dropped my luggage, then continue my journey to Universal Studio Singapore, from Chinatown MRT, I took direction to HarbourFront MRT Station. This station connected to VivoCity, then I use escalator to level 3, after that continue to Sentosa Island by using monorail, called, Sentosa Express, it cost S$ 3 (round trip).
Hello Universal Studio Singapore! This is my first time to go to this entertainment land. At first we begin the journey to try almost all attractions in every land. There are seven main theme park; Madagascar, Far Far Away, The Lost World, Ancient Egypt, Sci-Fi City, New York, and Hollywood.
My friend and I went on an unforgettable river boat ride with Alex, Marty, Melman and Gloria. It was really fun, and the waiting time was only for about 10 minutes.
Far Far Away
In the theme park, first we tried Shrek 4-D Adventure. It was really fun, we gathered in a theater that the chair could move exactly followed with the script of the film that played in the theater. Also, there was some water splash that made me shocked. But overall it was really fun!
Second attraction is Enchanted Airways, a mini outdoor roller coaster. It was really made my hear-beat fast but i love it!
The Lost World
I felt that I am back to the world before centuries. The park decorated like a forest and jurassic park. First, I went to WaterWorld, every day there are (only) 2 times show, and I can join the first show of that day. The show basically told us about a story of war from witness death-defying stunts and some awesome explosions! Be Ware of Water that splash to you! hhaha
After that i move to another attraction that was Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure. A thrilling river raft ride through primeval dinosaur habitats where I got extremely wet! hhaha
Also in this park, I took lunch in Discovery Food Court. There are some affordable meals that can make your tummy full. I bought “Nasi Ayam Penyet” (emang ga pernah jauh2 dari nasi hhihihi) that cost for about S$ 11 (including pudding and Ice Lemon Tea).
At first, we just took a photo in the land of Ancient Egypt, that day was so hot and sun really sunny that day! the after walking around to other places we were back again and tried the Revenge of the Mummy, it was indoor roller coaster and I could face to face with warrior mummies. The funny things was one of my friend afraid to come, so that She could kept my bag for awhile. (hhihi thank you Anya!) For your info, If no one cannot keep your belongings you should rent a locker.
For me personally, this theme park was the most exciting and very tempting. There are three main attractions; Battlestar Galactica: CYLON Blue Track and Red Track, and also TRANSFORMERS The Ride: The Ultinate 3D Battle.
I tried the TRANSFORMER twice! the newest attraction from USS, and it basically, we were in a ride and join Optimus Prime and The Autobots to battle against the forces of evil. Extremely FUN! You should try thisss! recommended!
The other attractions was the red track,82.8 km/h outdoor roller coaster. In this journey i scream loud! and i pray to god, “dear God! I didn’t finish my thesis, still wanna catch some dreams..please i still wanna live in this world” hahaha very frightening! and then, my friend asked me whether I’m brave enough to try the blue track, I said “yes”. Oh my god! the blue track more frightening than red track! with a cobra roll! I was pretty much dizzy after tried two-extreme-roller-coasters in-a-row.. and then i bought ice milo to reduce my dizziness hhaha
In this theme park, I visited a show that hosted by Steven Spielberg. It was combination of lights, camera and action. The sound effect was unpredictable! Super Cool and (also) super WET! cause I stand in the first row! ngokss -__-
After that, in this road we also can meet the gorgeous boy band, pretty lady, took a photo in front of yellow cab, great building, etc.
It was the last theme park that we visited. The attraction was only one, Monster Rock. The combination of story, performance art, and drama musical in one stage. It was really fun and very entertaining! Hits from west to east combine into one performance, the songs that played such as; Wo Ai Ni, No Body, We Will Rock You, etc. Must Watch! (lumayan buat duduk, ngedinginin badan, dan nonton hhehe.. guess what? saking nyamannya theatre ini..ibu2 disebelah saya tidur :P)
Also, we can meet Kungfu Panda, Frankenstein, and others.
walking around Hard Rock Cafe Sentosa Singapore, Hershey’s Chocolate Shop, M&M’s Shop..
We took dinner in Food Republic inside VivoCity. I ate Nasi Rames that cost S$ 7. Suddenly, while we were eating, we saw Zumi Zola (Indonesian actor and Bupati Tanjung Jabung Timur,Jambi Province), his wife and his mother-in-law.
Shocked cause he’s definitely gorgeous saudara-saudaraa! hmm… hahhaa
We went back to Hostel.. extremely tired but so much FUN!!!
thanks to Astrid..part of these photos were from her camera. 🙂

Location : Asian Civilization Museum and China Town
breakfast in my bedroom, just made a cup of instant noodle.
We walked together to the MRT Station and heading to Raffles Palace MRT Station. Pak Pri, told us about the history of Singapore. The district that we visited used to be a business district. A lot of Banks were built there. and The higher the building it means that the higher wealth of the bank. Also, there are some statue that explained the previous business activity that held in Singapore.
I passed a bridge to the Asian Civilization Museum.
Asian Civilization Museum
This Museum was clean, full of air conditioner, tidy, and there are some of audio guides, visual guides, that made this museum more attractive. For student foreigner, we got discount and only cost S$4. This museum was divided into some sectors, such as:
The history of Singapore, India, China, Malaysia, Sriwijaya, Javanese, Balinese, even Dayak (Borneo), completely saved in this museum.
After finish walking inside the museum, then we walked beside the river. Pak Pri also told us about the history that happened in Singapore. After took a picture together in Clark Quay, that was the time Pak Pri farewell to us, cause tomorrow morning He’s going back to Indonesia.
The atmosphere was like when I’m in Shenzhen (ya iya laah!), from Chinese food, Imitate goods, until Souvenir Shops. We saw some interesting shops like Maid Suppliers. But, then we move to another shop called Mahjong House that focus selling Souvenir such as postcards, snowballs, Chocolate, and others.
I went to Bugis Junction and Bugis Street. I’m having sushi for dinner. The sushi was delicious and affordable. The restaurant called, MOF or Ministry of Foods, Bugis Junction.
After dinner, we went back to the Parc Sovereign Hotel and prepared for tomorrow morning cause we are going to rock USS! horaaay!

Having breakfast in hotel with my roommates. Overall, The breakfast was okay; with vegetable fried rice, fish nuggets.
Gathered in the lobby at this time, then We took MRT to Singapore Management University.
There was misunderstanding between the schedule on itinerary and the previous e-mail. So basically, we went to the wrong building. But after cross-check with security in that building we then walking to the right place.
There was Professor, Shalin, and Foo Fang that welcoming us. The first session was welcoming speech from Professor in University Lounge.
The second session was tour the campus. First, we went to Mochtar Riady Auditorium, Sports Hall, Swimming Pool, Food Court, and continue the journey to outside the building across the Singapore Art Museum. Then continue, to other building, which is the building of School of Business. In one of their meeting room, we had a great speech from the Professor, great sharing about the SMU in general, the graduate program, and activities in SMU.
The meeting closed by having lunch together. Nasi Lemak that given by SMU was really delicious, the rice was green that obviously mixed with pandan, and fried chicken, sunny-side-up, sauce, and fried teri. yummy!
Free time. We were heading to Little India, to begin our first observation about cross cultural management that happened in this market. We choose one of market that named, Hua Brothers Hardware [PTE] LTD. This shop was run with having various kind of stuff from flip-flops, drinks, until soap and shampoo.
The interesting facts was this shop was run by Chinese people in Tamil district. They also blend to the culture that Singapore have.
I use this free time to take a rest in the hotel, take a nap for a couple of hours.
Prepared for sharing session with IA -ITB Singapura.
Arrived in the meeting point and some of the alumni of ITB already arrived also.

Date : May 13, 2012
Location : Jakarta and Singapore
At this time, all of students, Pak Pri, Parent, and the person from Travel Agent gathered in Soekarno Hatta International Airport Terminal 2. After I got boarding pass, I farewell with my parent. It has been awhile for traveling abroad since my last time to go to Amsterdam last year, as an exchange student from SBM ITB.
Our flight actually still on 16.35, but as we know immigration and walking to the waiting room definitely takes time, so that is why we came early.
There was minor delay at that time, but still acceptable. My partner for this time, at flight are Astrid and Andra. We both sit in the middle row.
The weather at that time was cloudy and some shocks when the airplane hit the air.
We landed safely on Changi International Airport Singapore. After done with immigration, i took my luggage. Then, we moved to parking lot and went to hotel, Parc Sovereign in Little India by mini bus.
The funny things when on the way to hotel, somehow when the mini bus run in high speed, and somehow it also shacked constantly to right and to left, just like dance. I really do not know whether it because the condition of the road or there was something wrong with the mini bus. In the bus, Pak Pri gave us the framework of what we are going to do for the next days. I really excited with this field trip, cause I really want to know about the real cross cultural that happen in Singapore, about the Singapore Management University and also want to hear experiences from IA-ITB Singapura.
Free time. Me and my friends went to Orchard Road for shopping. There was five of us, and a bit of disaster when we cannot communicate each other because we do not have phone number (we usually using blackberry messenger) and three of my friends were not activate their BB International Roaming. But, Thank God.. we can meet again and continue our journey of shopping to another places.
We were starving and most of the restaurant already closed. After gathered with friends from other group such as Rido, Faris, Eko, etc. then we walked to Wendy’s in Orchard Road that open 24 hours.
I ate baked potato and chili for supper yummy!
Then we went back to our hotel in Little India by MRT. We were a little bit in a rush because MRT daily operation always closed on 23.00.
We arrived at Little India MRT Station. In here there are a lot of Indians. For a moment, i felt like I’m traveling to Calcuta, not Singapore.
After take a bath, i went to sleep with my friends. My roommates is Astrid and Rike.
